WHAT IS PERNATON® ?
PERNATON® is a range of products with each item containing Perna, a unique extract sourced from New Zealand Green lipped Mussel (Perna Canaliculus).
PERNATON® is available as a dietary supplement in the form of capsules and two care gels are available for daily external application. The best results are achieved when internal and external applications are combined.

Original Perna extract
Natural extract from the coastal waters of New Zealand – the original Perna extract of the New Zealand Green Lipped Mussel (perna canaliculus) is a natural source of unique, nourishing and regenerative substances. It serves as a basis for the manufacture of valuable PERNATON® products and – thanks to its high content of Glycosaminoglycans (GAG) important for the cartilage – it supplies the body with essential nutrients that give vital support, among other things, to joint function. In addition, original Perna extract has a functional Glycogen complex, long-chain omega-3 fatty acids, 11 different minerals and 18 vital amino acids.
Only products with the original Perna extract label on the packaging contain original Perna extract.
Pernaton® has a unique cold extraction process which does not use heat, chemicals or solvents. The extract is then freeze dried to ensure quality and purity, before being milled to produce a fine powder extract.
Conventional Green Lipped Mussel powder on the market today contain mussels that have been steamed/cooked or which have been ground down into a powder, using basic processes that destroy essential active ingredients. Some even purchase the by-products from other produces or mussel farms which are definitely not fresh.
WHERE ARE THE GREEN LIPPED MUSSELS SOURCED?
The mussels are grown in the clean coastal waters of New Zealand and even though the area already has a blue ocean environmental award, the ocean water, as well as the mussels are constantly monitored for safety – bacteria, toxins and heavy metals.
How are they farmed?
The New Zealand Green Lipped Mussels are grown on long rope lines hanging vertically in the water, and are constantly checked and thinned out to ensure the perfect growing environment.
In the production of original Perna extract, great care is taken in the extraction process. Breeding and processing of the Green Lipped Mussels are constantly supervised by the New Zealand Health Ministry together with independent scientific laboratories and conform to internationally recognized quality standards.
